So these results show a clear difference between the two CMake
versions on Wine-1.5.15

Great. Note that on a native Windows machine the output of the first
one works. It breaks only under Wine. Please try it also in directory

good_build_dir/CMakeFiles/CompilerIdC

BTW, turnaround between us should be much faster now. The system
adminstrator for the machine that handles my incoming mail just
added 1.5GB to a previously overflowing /var/spool/mail partition
that Bill had spotted on that machine from a bounce message
he got.

Here are the current results you have requested.

bash.exe-3.1$ cd 4.5.2_version/ephcom2/good_build_dir/CMakeFiles/CompilerIdC bash.exe-3.1$ ls
CMakeCCompilerId.c a.exe
bash.exe-3.1$ cp ../CompilerIdFortran/info.cmake .
bash.exe-3.1$ /z/home/wine/newstart/cmake-2.8.9-win32-x86/bin/cmake.exe -P
info.cmake
bash.exe-3.1$ /z/home/wine/newstart/bootstrap_cmake/install_4.7.0/bin/cmake.exe
-P info.cmake
-- [INFO:compiler[GNU]]
-- [INFO:compiler_version[00000004.00000005.00000002]]
-- [INFO:platform[MinGW]]
-- [INFO:arch[]]

So there were quite different results in that case as well which I
think you didn't expect?
