Yes Qt's configure is a stand alone script unrelated to autotools. Qt
uses its own build system thats shipped with it.

I can confirm that.  Also, I have built Qt5 a couple of times, and I
was not particularly happy with the regidity of their build system
when attempting to drop components I was not using.  And I was also
not happy with how the options for that configuration script changed
so drastically from one Qt5 version to the next. So it is always a
big disappointment to me that Qt5 does not have a flexible,
user-friendly CMake-based build system following what the KDE
developers have done for years.

So this is another "minor" project for Alex.  :-)
