I encountered this problem, wrote a patch and added it to http://www.cmake.org/Bug/view.php?id=4068 Bill, please take a look. The patch is really tiny and doesn't break any existing code (IMHO). All it does is to alter the file extension of the compiled resource file to .obj, in case MINGW is defined, since mingw-gcc doesn't like .res . Best, -- Maik
