I don't know about an iron clad way to prevent cmake from optimizing anything, so I just use verbose makefiles and log the build output. The default for gcc is -O0, so if the log is spotless (i.e. no "-O") I assume I'm in the clear. I think you can use "--coverage" for both building and linking btw.
