Hello again,

the problem was that the static version of the METIS library must be linked
with the MATH library (libm). After adding:

SET(CMAKE_REQUIRED_LIBRARIES ${CMAKE_REQUIRED_LIBRARIES}
/path/to/math/library )

it seems that all works fine.
