Okay...made the change, but am still getting the error.
Here is the top level of mycan.cpp

#include <stdio.h>
#include <pthread.h>
#include <net/if.h>
#include <string.h>
#include <unistd.h>
#include <net/if.h>
#include <sys/ioctl.h>
#include <sys/socket.h>
#include <assert.h>
#include <linux/can.h>
#include <linux/can/raw.h>
