POLICY
SUBJECT: Department of Health Notification of Incidents
DISTRIBUTION: Subacute Nursing
DATE IMPLEMENTED: 1/98
STANDARD: Incidents and Accidents will be reported to the Department of Health
according to the Department of Health Regulations.
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY: DON, Social Services
PROCEDURE:
1. The following will be reported to the Department of Health according to
the Department of Health Regulations.
A. Death due to injury or Suicide
B. Death due to Malnutrition/Dehydration
C. Elopements
D. Reportable Diseases according to the Infection Control Policy.
E. Temporary interruption of Services due to Disaster, Fire, Storm, Flood, which
affect health and safety of residents.
F. All fires, whether interruption of services accrue.
G. Transfer to Hospital as a result of Injury or Accident.
H. Complaint of resident Abuse, whether or not confirmed by facility.
