Could someone tell me off the top of their head if there is a way to get additional reimbursement for a Medicaid resident that must be in private room due to medical necessity for 6 weeks? (Non-Medicare bed). (Resident is receiving chemo tx in bladder - precautions necessary). We are in KS. I live in Fl. Yes, once a resident is a room it is his. Residents right ,indeed. also look into infection control. I had a resident who the Nursing home wanted to moved, due to money. he was in a private room due to his Wheelchair being oversized. We obtained a doctor's order for infection control for the pt. he had MS. and got sick a lot when near other residents. The resident didn't have to move and Medicaid paid the Nursing home.
