I purchased the 5MCC from www.handango.com for $64.95
Updates are free for a year. (www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productType=2&optionId=1_2_2&jid=D4CA297A339FB6B64X357BEF58D14XAF&platformId=2&siteId=1&productId=66359§ionId=0&catalog=30&txtSearch=5+Minute+Clinical+Consult) (Direct Link) My "PDR" is actually the DR's Drug
Book, same thing, easier to use, more clinical stuff, from www.skyscape.com for $49.95 (www.skyscape.com/EStore/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=220) direct link. The MDS reference is just stuff I have
collected along the way, especially the Midnight Rule which you need to beat the
bookkeeper with over the about once every 6 months, etc. The MDS Manual I
downloaded like everyone else, opened with the Pocket Word (Part of the
Microsoft Office for PDA's which usually comes with it.) I also have
a few other things, mostly because I'm obsessive - compulsive. I have the
Medical Chart, which allows me to track order changes & labs, etc. and the
Han D Database, so I can write my own storage device options. There's a
lot of stuff out there, and some of it is FREE! Try ADL software,
which supposedly has some trial downloadable software. Also, some of the
companies actually sell programs which allow the nurse to do the MDS on the PDA,
but which are so expensive, only the facility can afford it, and they are
usually given specific PDA's to use w/ the programs. Most companies,
especially Handango, will allow you to download a program, and you get to use it
15 times before you have to register and then pay for it. Prices range
from about $29 to $79.00 for that type of stuff.
