It seems to me it would be a good idea for all surveyors to know what they're doing 
before going into a facility to act as judge and jury.  I recently had a surveyor tell 
me we HAD to do an MDS on a resident who had been in the hospital overnight "because 
you sent a discharge and a reentry." (there had been NO significant change in the 
resident's condition) She then went on to say that because there was an AA8a there had 
to be an MDS to go with it.  She was unaware that AA8a is part of the re-entry.  I 
would like to say, "unless you've been an RNAC for at least six months, stay out of my 
MDSs."  :o)
