You can address it in the RAP's but can't code it
in the MDS.

Subject: Terminal Diagnosis
I know that in order to code terminal on the MDS the MD must write less
than six months. My question is: May I address the issue of terminal
illness in the RAP? Oncologist has progress note that indicates terminal
state, but does not specifically state less than 6 months. Based on this
would be ok to address terminal status in the RAP's? Thanks.
