Thank you all for your support and "empowerment." Like most MDS people, I am not the passive type. Sometimes we need to pull out all stops to get the information we need to help us formulate the best plan of care from the assessment data. Soooooooooooooo, I went in to work today and assertively confronted the Physical therapist. Told her I am a professional, conducted myself like one and expected to be treated as one. For a Resident to go from a 1-1 to 3-3 and 4-3 in mobility, transfers and toileting was in my professional opinion a significant change of status and while I definately support this as a team decision, my rationale is based on the RAI manual. If there is disagreement about this then the state MDS support person could be consulted. My point is that it is a TEAM decision and not just her whim. I don't attend care plan meetings so wasnt there when all of this was discussed and felt that it was very disrespectful to me. Thanks again to all who responded!
