We recently had a resident admitted with multiple stage 4 areas who is developing new ones rapidly.  Resident has a condition called Calciphylaxis which is progressive and a highly morbid syndrome of vascular calcification and skin necrosis.  They look like pressure/stasis ulcers.  MD states only case he has seen in 30 years of practice.  We are finding this a real learning experience and I thought y’all might be interested.  Good article -     www.emedicine/com/derm/topic555.htm
