The entire SNF-12 Manual is now officially
obsolete. Chapter 1 was deleted several weeks ago, and now CMS notes that
"Chapter II, Coverage of Services; Chapter III, Payment Procedures; Chapter IV,
Admission Procedures; and Chapter V, Billing Procedures;
are being deleted and the related instructions are issued in the CMS Manual System." This instruction is in the introduction
to a new 18-page SNF-12 Manual
crosswalk to help providers find things in the new on-line manual system.
So if you are referring to
the SNF-12 for guidance, you are using an outdated resource.
The SNF-12 crosswalk for chapters 2 - 5 is
available at http://www.cms.gov/manuals/pm_trans/R378SNF.pdf
To get a complete crosswalk for the entire manual,
you should also download the SNF-12 crosswalk for chapter 1 at http://www.cms.gov/manuals/12_snf/sn100.asp.
