Only if the care being provided skills into an appropriate RUGS category on the MDS. Terminal in and of itself will not. I wondered about this too so I have tried to play with an MDS marking terminal and it would not RUG out until I Added something skilled like wound care/O2/MD visits with orders/dehydration etc. I think the logic must be that the terminal status must require ongoing level of "skilled care" to make it qualify.

During her stay here came off of skilled coverage. During this time she was diagnosed with a terminal condition. Would this continue to skill her for her med a coverage.
