You are right, if H3 a or b are checked on the MDS , it will be calculated as one of the Nursing rehabilitative services for case mix purposes. See pages 6-13, 6-21 and 6-23 of the manual. While checking section H for toileting plan does not state that the toileting plan must be done at least 15 minutes a day, we all know that if the toileting plan was done , it had to have been at least 15 minutes in a day. They do not require times to be entered on the MDS for this one, thank goodness we don't have to time toileting--would need to be in hours and not minutes if we did.

How does Nursing Rehab for H3a,b (Toileting Plan, Bladder Retraining) get calculated for impact on RUG score? I'm confused since the RAI manual states "count the number of the following services provided for 15 minutes or more per day for 6 or more of the last 7 days". but you don't count days for these toileting plans - you just check if it happened during the assessment period unlike the other Nursing Rehab items. Thanks.
