It sounds like a surgical wound gone bad. I would code it as a surgical
wound.

Subject: Recent AKA w/necrosis?

Resident had an BKA several weeks ago. End of stump has a black area
3x6 cm
extending from suture line with redness noted above black area. Surgeon
plans stump revision next week. Is this considered an ulcer in M1? Is
it a
stasis ulcer in M2? Or is it only
a surgical wound? Appears as non-healing, nonviable tissue. I don't
believe pressure played any part in this. Thanks in advance for any
help!
