>From one of the CMS listserves, Dec. 12:

"The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Data Assessment and
Verification (DAVE) project expands to national implementation in
January 2004. We want to provide you with the opportunity to hear more about
this project. A transcript of the DECEMBER 11th Industry call will be
available at: www.cms.hhs.gov/providers/psc/dave within three weeks of the
teleconference."

So monitor that page for information. There was also a basic handout about
DAVe that they e-mailed out through the listserve. This document notes that
"Approximately 2,000 providers will be involved in the MDS review process
during the coming year (i.e., receive a request for copies of medical
records or be notified that an onsite review has been scheduled). The
national data verification process will occur across all 50 states." Perhaps
AANAC will post the entire handout for those who are interested. Or if you
are not an AANAC member, contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I will
forward it to you. Please DO NOT make a request via the listserve. -Caralyn
