An OMRA is required after all therapies are discontinued and non-therapy skilled services will continue.  The exception is if the resident classified into a non-rehab RUG on the most recent PPS assessment, then an OMRA is not required.  See the RAI User's Manual, page 2-29, OMRA section, last bullet under "Special Comment."  Also see page 2-31.

If she's not in a rehab rug, and still receiving the services that gave you the RUG, I would guess maybe you might be able to get away with it, although the book does say to do it.  This is a Rena question in my mind.

yes, an OMRA will have to be done 8-10 days after ALL therapies are dc'd (thus when ST is dc'd); however, depending if the 8th, 9th, or 10th day lands on day 11-14th of the resident's stay -- then you can do an OMRA in place of the 14th day assmt.

I HAVE A RESIDENT WHO GOT A REHAB RUG ON DAY 5 BUT WAS UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE WELL ENOUGH WITH THERAPY TO GET A REHAB RUG ON DAY 14. PT/OT HAS DROPPED RESIDENT.  ST WILL HAVE HER FOR A FEW MORE DAYS WILL AN OMRA HAVE TO BE DONE AFTER ST DC'S SINCE SHE WILL ALREADY HAVE A NURSING RUG?
