Subject: re: New Hampshire Influenza Public Health Advisory

Good Morning,

I was interested if any one in NH was involved with the "Recommendations for
the Prevention and Control of Influenza Outbreaks in Long-Term Care" issued
by the Department of Health and Human Services?

If so..

1) If you have a confirmed case of influenza, by nasal swab rapid test, will
you be treating all residents prophylacticly who do not have symptoms of
influenza?

2) How are you going to deal with unvaccinated staff and "rotating or float
staff"- i.e.: nursing, housekeeping, food service etcetera, in the event of
an "outbreak" of Influenza in your facility? ( we have defined an outbreak
as one confirmed case). Are you offering prophylactic anti-viral?

Any ideas about how you have addressed the recommendation would be
appreciated.

Thank you,
