The restriction years ago was due to the type of battery used in the chair.
It could explode while recharging.  The new ones are not at risk.  We used
to plug them in outside..sometimes the cord came through the window.  I
think it was the Fire Marshall/state rule.

If they need the electric w/c to mobilize wouldn't we be restraining
them if we removed it from their immediate use?  Just curious cause we
have several also and our residents would pitch a fit it we put it where
they couldn't use it.

I would also like to know. I  have gotten 5 in our building so far and

working on another one. Sometimes kept in rooms, but because our rooms

double we usually set them outside the residents door when they are in
bed.
Courtesy to roommates too. We have never been cited when they are in the
residents room during survey, and I have yet to hear about the OSHA.
