Just an FYI, Indiana was one of the beta test sites and the DAVE project was as described below. However, we were informed by the FI that they have been instructed to recoup funds for any files from the DAVE project that were not validated. This was a particular problem since many of the files were not validated simply because not all the information that was requested was sent in to the DAVE request. So treat any DAVE records request as if they are ADR's and be thorough in sending in the information.

Lisa,

D.A.Ve. is about accuracy in MDS coding.  Initially, it will be educational in nature.  If you are selected for a D.A.Ve. on-site or off-site review, and if accuracy issues are identified, then training by the project staff will be the next step.  Here are some websites to visit for the history, etc.

Good luck!  It went operational in all states 1/1/04: cms.internetstreaming.com/maincourses.php (You can sign up for free courses put on by cms-one of them is D.A.Ve., altho it was already held; but, you can still download the data for a year afterwards!)  Next:  www.cms.hhs.gov/providers/psc/dave

There was a December 11, 2003 industry call that will be posted any day at the last website I listed.  It isn’t there as yet, or I am just “surfer challenged” because I don’t see it and I have checked a few areas.

I know this has been discussed before, but can anyone tell me anything about this program?  If I am doing what I should be doing this program should not be  a concern-it is to benefit us right?  Thanks for all your support!

Lisa
