Subject: Surgical closure of an
ulcer
My question relates to staging a pressure area if it
has been surgically closed with a flap, and the resident has an insicion
line. Is the area now a surgical area? Or should we still code it
as a staged pressure area? If you would still stage it, what stage would
it be? How would we reverse code it as the area heals?
