Subject: Surgical closure of an ulcer

My question relates to staging a pressure area if it has been surgically closed with a flap, and the resident has an insicion line.  Is the area now a surgical area?  Or should we still code it as a staged pressure area?  If you would still stage it, what stage would it be?  How would we reverse code it as the area heals?

Thanks for any help,

Suzanne Werner in PA
