I would not follow the advice that Delores received from CMS and attached to the previous email.
The instructions in the CMS Claims Processing Manual have not changed. Below are 2 cuts from Chapter 25 regarding occurrence codes and dates

(SNF claims only.) Date on which a covered level of care ended in a SNF or general hospital, or date on which active care ended in a psychiatric or tuberculosis hospital or date on which patient was released on a trial basis from a residential facility. Code is not required if code "21" is used

Benefits Exhausted

The last date for which benefits are available and after which no payment can be made by payer A.
