yes, I mean he left on the 18th. My next ARD is 01-21. Its an admit combined
w/ a 14 day. I'll still have enough minutes for a Rehab RUG, but can I count
the 18th in my look back period or do I skip it altogether??? Thanks for
ypur help!!!

Do you mean the resident went to the ER on 1/18/04 instead of 1/8/04?
If so, you do not bill for 1/18/04 and add one day to your benefit
period. If the resident needs the assessment reference date extended to
grace days to benefit him, then you extend it to capture the right rugs
score for the resident.

I have a resident who went to the ER @ 9:45pm on 01-08 and returned @
2:30am
on 01-19. Is it the 18th that we can't bill Medicare for? Also, he is in
the
middle of an ARD. When counting my look back days do I skip this day
altogether or can I count any services that we (or ER) provided?
