Title: Citrus Punch

Jamie,

It would appear that the Oxygen is related to the lung cancer and therefore to the terminal illness which is covered by the Hospice benefit.  Therefore it would appear that the resident should be dc’d from Medicare A Skilled Benefit.

Subject: MCR A & Hospice

Can a resident have MCR A due to oxygen use and have Hospice due to End Stage Lung Disease at the same time?   I had her skilled with therapy for a different dx. than the Hospice one, but now ther. has d/c'd. Can she continue on MCR A (I will do an OMRA) with oxygen which is for the same diagnosis as the Hospice (End Stage Lung Disease)?
