Take a close look at transmittal A-02-118 (available on AANAC site) states that dialysis is an exclusion when the SNF constitues the home of the beneficiary. However, the last sentence on that page say in italics ' Note that SNFs may not be paid for home dialysis supplies." A call to your FI should help you clarify all of the charges. There are HCPCS codes for dialysis supplies. It would seem as if the supplies used with the appropriate HCPCS codes would be exclusions.

Are peritoneal dialysis supplies excluded or are they included in the daily pps rates? I would appreciate any help and cite the source please. Thanks in advance.
