Your ARD is scheduled for the last possible day using grace days, which is acceptable.
R2b can be signed as soon as the MDS is completed (AA9 signed and attested to), you
don't need to wait for 2/4, but could. You will need this assessment transmitted and
accepted at the state before you can bill for January. I would not wait very long ot
transmit so billing can go out on time.

Subject: scheduling question
Hello,
I just walked into a new skilled position so I need to feel I am scheduling
a 30 day medicare assessment correctly.
Resident admitted 12/19/03 Medicare part A
ARD set for 1/21/04
R2b would be dated 2/4/04 (due date)
Am I correct? The scheduling regs seem straight forward, but there may be
something I have missed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
June
