I would hesitate to code it as a surgical site. Surgical wounds with skin care place
the resident into a higher RUG group. IF there was extensive oral surgery, I would
consider it. But I would not code surgical wound for a simple extraction.

Can the site of a tooth extraction be coded as a surgical wound? There are
sutures and a salt H2O rinse.
