Yes this would be correct. -----Original Message----- From: Carol O'Brien [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, February 06, 2004 3:40 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: coma part of review period
We have a resident that had the five day ARD (MCR payment only) set on 1/27. On 1/25 he went into a coma (documented by nursing and also MD note stating comatose). Are we correct to code section B1 as yes since he was in a coma part of the review period? We then would code ADL's as extensive asst (he participated first four days and then was total care last 3 days). Needless to say this is an unusual situation that looks very strange on the MDS. _________________________________________________________________ Check out the great features of the new MSN 9 Dial-up, with the MSN Dial-up Accelerator. http://click.atdmt.com/AVE/go/onm00200361ave/direct/01/ /---------------------------------------------------------- The Case Mix Discussion Group is a free service of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators "Committed to the Assessment Professional" Be sure to visit the AANAC website.
