Bryan, We usually code the discharge tracking form as a Discharge return Not anticipated AA8a=6, if residents go AWOL or discharge against medical advice.  In Section R, it depends if we know where they are going.  For residents who go AWOL, just up and leave we code as "9" Other, for discharge information.  If a resident leaves AMA and states that they are going home, I would code 1.  So, depends on the situation.  ----- Original Message ----- From: Bryan Sims To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, February 07, 2004 4:19 PM Subject: Re DC AMA Hi everyone, If a resident leaves the facility AMA how do you code it on the MDS??  I think it wold be "8" (other) as it is not a DC home as it would be in a normal discharge.  Thanks!   bryan
