Alot will depend on if you had a discharge order prior to the 3 day trail.
with regard to billing thats a whole n'other issue. the Rt may have been
paying for both. MDS wise depends on the discharge order.

Subject: LOA? Discharge? what date to use?

My facility is a joined building , with assisted living on one side, and SNF
on the other side. I had a resident who went on a 3 day "trial" in the
assisted living building on 2/5. He did great, and is staying there.
Billing is saying his official discharge from the SNF is 2/8, (which would
have been the end of the 3 day trial). So just to clarify, do I use 2/8 as
his discharge? or 2/5? Was this an "LOA" then? This has not come up
before.
Thanks
