Hi, Gang,
I realize this is completely off topic, and apologize in advance, but my family could really use your support and any prayers you could offer.

My brother's 18 month old son fractured his femur earlier this afternoon, just playing in the living room with his older brother, who is 4.  This is the 2nd long bone fracture for my nephew; he had a tibia fracture about 4 months ago.  So, after undergoing ORIF tonight, they will be embarking on testing to discover why his bones are so fragile.  Apparently, there is a family history on my SIL's side of Osteogenesis Imperfecti, and that is the working diagnosis.

I feel so helpless right now.  Y'all can probably see enough of my personality online to know that I really love to fix things and help people and make things better.  This is totally out of my hands. They are staying 2 hours away, so I can't even just be there with them.

Pray for Jacob, for healing and comfort.  Pray for Nathan, who feels like this is all his fault. Pray for my brother and his wife.

Thanks

Holly
Of course I'll pray for Jacob, Nathan, his parents and you!  I hope that it is not anything abnormal.  My niece broke her tibia at that age as well or even a little younger when she was learning to walk and stood up and turned at the same time hanging on to the furniture.  I hope that it's just a normal break and no disease caused it.
Take care,
Janice Martin, RN
