Is the following the correct way to determine the daily rate for the different RUG levels?

  1. Take the national rate from the final draft of the Case-Mix Adjusted Federal Rates and Associated Indices Urban or Rural as appropriate.
  2. Multiply the national rate by the appropriate Wage index for your city, county, area.

Will this give you the final rate for 2004?

I am doing this and getting different numbers than a local healthcare consulting firm. I thought maybe there was additional information that came out in the final Medicare bill 12/08/2004 that affected the rates. Can anyone shed light on this?

Thanks,

David
