Even if she did have skilled care before she left for the hospital, as long
as she has some of her 100 Medicare days available and had a 3 day
qualifying hospital stay , she can be covered on Medicare A as long as she
has a daily skilled need.  If she had something that would place her in the
top 26 RUGS groups on her 5-day PPS assessment , she can at least get the
presumption of Medicare coverage through the assessment reference date of
the 5-day assessment.
