If a resident is in the hospital on the picture date, they would not be on
MA that day. Since the PA case mix system is built on a 'picture date"
system, the only day that matters for case mix is the picture date. So, the
discharge tracking form was done correctly, she is return anticipated when
discharged to the hospital. Discharge tracking forms effectively discharge
a resident from MA in PA, that is why you need to answer the MA question on
reentry tracking forms in PA. IF you answer, yes for MA for case mix on
reentry it puts them back into the MA system. If a resident is on Medicare
A when they return from the hospital, they are "no" for MA for case mix.
Then when Medicare A ends you must remember to do a MA change form. So,
sounds like all is well with your CMI for that resident.
