Dear Listmates:

Nitro drip in skilled NH:

This is approved by AHCA in skilled Nursing Homes.

The nursing home is a skilled facility.  First order of business. I checked the license.
Subacute care unit , 3 nurses to 10 residents.  Very hospital like setting. Resp. on board, ARNPs following and monitoring of the resident, 24/7 . DX: cardiac plus much more.  The resident was having chest pains, that why he was receiving the nitro drip for a few days. Nursing care flowsheet prefect.  The resident is distress free now, thought now a DNR.  Palliative care only.
The Nurse who called it in was not a whistle blower in my eyes but a concerned nurse looking out for her resident's well being as well as her own professional liability.
I was there 5 hrs reviewing the medical chart with all of the team. I didn't find any wrong doing. no neglect.
Supposedly, this will be the future of skilled NH with residents have more treatments, more problems and more cardiac meds.  A list of meds for IV's will be sent to me. I will share it with you, when I received it.
Thank you all for your input.

Ps: if you want the CNA adls email me and I will sent to you privately.  The List couldn't handle the load, somehow. Maybe it all those line on the sheets LOL.

Sincerely,
Marti
