Page 3-135 of the RAI manual states " Respiratory infection--any uper or lower acute respiratory infection other than pneumonia." So, if it is pneumonia, the coding of respiratory infection would not be appropriate. Code it as pneumonia only.

I have a patient that is diagnosed with clinical Pneumonia.He is symptomatic and receiving antibiotics.No chest x-ray was done.How would you code in section I.
Pneumonia or respiratory infection?
