Long term resident of SNF (has been a resident
of this facility for greater than 20 years) is sent to hospital with
pneumonia. MRSA+ sputum is cultured out. Patient is ready to return
to SNF but now the SNF is refusing to take him back stating he "wanders"
(although he is wheelchair bound) and presents a health risk to the other
residents.
What do you see as options the hospital has to get
the resident back to his home at the facility?
