>From a DAVE background information sheet put out by CMS in January, which suggests requests should be taken seriously, along the lines of an ADR from an FI. And according to the January Open Door Forum, DAVE doesn't currently plan to send individual reports to off-site review facilities. So if you hear from someone after an off-site DAVE review, it is likely going to be the FI or the state-Caralyn:
"The DAVE project includes a comprehensive communication plan to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of plans, activities, and results. The DAVE team has supported briefings to provider associations, industry representatives, and advisory groups, and is committed to a clear and efficacious communication process, one that avoids duplicative reviews and minimizes the burden on the provider community. The DAVE team will communicate with the State Agencies (SAs), Fiscal Intermediaries (FIs), Program Safeguard Contractors (PSCs), CMS Central Office (CO), and CMS Regional Offices (ROs) to inform them of all relevant information related to the DAVE process. "When the DAVE review process determines that the documentation provided by the facility does not support a previous Medicare payment, the team will provide the Fiscal Intermediary with the information needed to process a possible adjustment. The adjustment action could result in either a lower or higher payment to the facility, depending on the review results. Providers will have the same appeal rights that apply to other FI payment adjustments. "If the team detects egregious situations, health-and-safety issues, or potential fraud or abuse, the team will immediately notify the appropriate stakeholders." ----- Original Message ----- From: "Corthell, Lisa" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2004 10:53 AM Subject: RE: DAVE project Our facility in New Hampshire also had to send a record for DAVE review. The Record has been sent and I have not heard back from them. -----Original Message----- From: Richardson, Christine [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2004 8:11 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: DAVE project Good Morning everyone! I found out this morning that we have been requested to send a chart into the DAVE project. Should I be worried? Any advice from others that have had dealings with DAVE?
