Remember a resident is only presumed Med A eligible thru the 5 day ref date due to
hospital admit,after that there needs to be a skilled reason to stay on.I would set a
5 day ref and then take off on day 6 unless there is a skilled reason.Presumed
coverage usually doesn't fly since PPS came in,observation and assessment to develop a
plan of care is a skilled reason that I use,but only if the patient is medically
complicated.By the way what was the readmission diagnosis?????
