No you won't have to take default.
 
Once you inactivate the assessment you would need to complete and send an assessment coded correctly as a 30 day...use the same ARD as the original assessment. A late R2b and/or late transmission does not cause default.
 
I think I would keep the inactivated assessment attached to the correct assessment with a note in the margin as what occurred.

I just realized that I transmitted a 30 day MPAF, but coded it as a 60 day. I can't seem to fix, modify the assessment. Do I need to?
