Title: Rec therapy-is this getting through?
I hope I'm correct here.  You would code the minutes in section T.  However, if memory serves me correctly, the pre-stamped order only serves for the screening of need for recreational therapy.  You would still need an order which stated the number of days and minutes, and particular therapies included.  In othr words, your prestamped order for OT PT SLP Recreational, etc. would only cover the screening.  Then there must be a specific order for the recreational therapy, as well as days, minutes, etc., exactly what you would include in an order clarification for the Physical Therapy.

Your mail is getting thru just fine.  I just didn't have a brain in my head the day you originally asked, and assumed some one else would jump on board.

Subject: Rec therapy-is this getting through?

Second request for this question.  Not sure that my question is even getting through?  I've been having problems with my email, esp with the aanac discussion group.  I thought it was fixed, but I'm suspecting not?  Anyways, here is my question again:

Can anyone clarify when rec therapy minutes can be counted?  I have a new rec therapist on board and we are having trouble deciding when minutes should be counted.  We have standing admission orders, on which there is a prompt for the MD to check off to consult rec therapy yes or no.  My rec therapist feels this is enough of a physicians order to count minutes.  I feel it is not.  Can anyone clarify this.  Thanks.  You can emial me privately at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
