I have been told in the past that you would not have to do the OMRA if the Resident will be discharged from the facility on day 8,9 or 10 following therapy being dc'd.   Is what I was told incorrect?
If Therapy dc'd on March 1st and the Resident will go home on March 10th you would or would not do an OMRA? (the Resident continued on IV's until the 10th)

If the resident was in a Rehab group prior to the end of therapy, you must do the OMRA...See page 2-29 of the RAI Manual...It states,

"Not required if resident is discharged from Medicare prior to day 8 (after end of therapy)."
"Not required if not previously in a RUG-III Rehabilitation group"

Am I correct in thinking that if a patient is discharged from the facility
to either an acute care hospital or to another SNF on the 10th day after
discontinuation of all therapies that an OMRA is not needed?
Yes, I think you're right.
