Montana - our survey last year was VERY adversarial - due to one surveyor in particular. Our facility, and several others who had her on the survey team did complain about her attitude. I'm thinking that this must have made a difference, because that is one point the surveyors this year were trying to make, is that cooperation is the best way to get the job done to everyone's satisfaction. I truly hope that this will be a trend for the survey agencies everywhere, as we all want the same outcome - excellent care for our elderly.

Subject: Survey here!! - And Gone!!Hallelujah!! Survey team just exited (10AM Wed) and it went VERY well. We will get citations on F387 - Frequency of MD visits (we are challenged with physicians up here in rural land as well as nurses!) and F444 on handwashing (a couple of NA's failed to wash after removal of gloves - AARGH!), but all in all it was a good survey. No dings on Care Plans or MDS, sanitation was good, and we are happy little campers today!! I have to say they were a rather pleasant survey team, with none of the adversarial attitude I have seen in the past - and in fact they commented that this is what they want. Cooperation between the facilities and the regulators for the overall improvement of care. I hope that feeling does continue. Thanks again everyone - and have a grand day....I will!!KathyD
