In some cases we use restorative nursing six days a week during the final week of
therapy {and then after} to assure continuity. During this time the resident practices
the newly learned skill with Restorative C.N.A. while still receiving skilled services
{usually 3 times/week} This transition seems to result in improved care and good
communication between nursing and rehab while the resident becomes more independent.
In other cases residents are trult independent following skilled therapy and do not
need reinforcement or additional restorative services.
