Hey Bryan,

You do need to divide by 7 in K 6.  The same applies if you had IV fluids, TPN, etc for less than 7 days. You take the total amt then divide by 7 days.

Howdy everyone,
     If a patient receives GT feeding for only 3 of the last 7 days then went to PO diet,  do you divide the total calories  and fluids received via GT  by 7 or by 3?  The book is not clear to me, it says to code the average, and to find the average in 7days you would have to divide by 7.  But if you are only looking for the average in those 3 days of receiving tube feeding you would divide by 3.  Thanks for taking the time to help me with this!!  Have a greeeaaaattttt day!!
