Resident admitted with 22 available Medicare days.  Therapy to discontinue today, 3/22 (9 days remaining). Resident has multiple open areas and IV therapy. Would the OMRA still need done?  (Resident has secondary insurance which will cover her remaining days here - she was admitted short term).
As long as nursing is still supplying skilled services (wounds and the IV), I would keep her skilled on the 9 remaining days and then do the OMRA with an ARD of the 10th day.  That will maximize payment for the continued skilling and will satisfy the rug change level (payment) requirement for when therapy stops but continued skilled nursing is needed. I think I counted those days right.
