Not even if I really, really want them to come take me away?????? (Calgon,
anyone?)

Sorry, could not resist that one.

Will add on to this, though, by saying that I keep a log at my desk whenever
I complete an assessment late for any reason. In January and February, we
had 2 ice/snow storms which completely disrupted things. The entire state of
South Carolina is paralyzed if 3 snow flakes fall consecutively, so you can
imagine a 3 day ice storm. At any rate, I just keep the log with res name,
type of assessment, when it was due, when it was completed, and the reason
it was late. In the MANY times state has been in since I have been at this
facility, they have not even raised the issue of late assessments.

At my previous facility, they did bring me a late assessment list with one
survey. This was a 250+ bed facility, and the list was about 1.5 pages long.
I was really stressing about it, and going back to find the reasons they
were late, and the survey team leader said something like, "We just give you
this for information. We really don't look at this unless it is a pattern
or really serious situation." She went on to tell me that they had been in
another facility earlier that had 10 or 12 pages of late assessments with
half the number of beds.

missed. There is no real issue unless there is a pattern of late assessments
in your facility.
