The manual discusses off unit locations as areas set aside for dining, activities, or treatments. I would code the resident's self performance in getting to and from those areas on their floor.

Subject: RE: section locomotion off unit
We have 2 floors in our facility - 3 units -each unit is self contained with DR, lounge and Rec room. For example if you live on 2nd floor there is no reason to leave the floor - we are discussing Locomotion off of unit - Because the floors are self-contained I believe you should code this section regarding their locomotion to those areas, not their locomotion to the 1st floor. We are getting a lot of residents with 8 in this section and I don't believe it is a true reflection of their activity in this area, because they have no reason to leave their unit. If this makes sense - your input would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
